Justine Kish is about a 3-1 favorite to defeat Ji Yeon Kim in UFC on FOX 27 on Saturday night.
Kish is 6-1 in her career, but she is coming off a loss to Felice Herrig in June of this past year, although Kim is 6-1-2 and coming off a loss to Lucie Pudilova. This battle is one of six to the FS1 section of the preliminary card, contributing up to a four-fight principal card that features Ronaldo Souza vs. Derek Brunson. Let’s look at Kish vs. Kim and UFC picks.

Justine Kish (6-1, 2-1 UFC)
Kish won her first four pro fights before she left her UFC debut in January of 2016. Kish won a unanimous decision against Nina Ansaroff and Kish followed up with a win over Ashley Yoder at December of 2016. The first loss for Kish within her career occurred in June of this past year, as she dropped a unanimous choice to Felice Herrig.
Kish will have the home crowd advantage on Saturday, as she struggles in Charlotte. “It will make me somewhat nervous to know so many people from here are going to be coming to the struggle,” said Kish into the Gaston Gazette,”But, to tell the truth, it could be one person out there or a million people and I’m thinking the same thing. I want to put on a fantastic show every time.” Kish will be battling in Charlotte for the next time in her career, as she battled Grady Cole as a recreational in 2007.
Kish stated that she’s been coaching with longtime coach Jeff Jimmo, to prepare for this struggle against Kim. “I usually don’t see a good deal of footage of my opponents,” said Kish,”But I’ve watched plenty of footage on her. We’ve studied it multiple times and I believe I will have a good strategy.”
Ji Yeo Kim (6-1-2, 0-1 UFC)
Kish has been a specialist since 2013. She fought to 2 draws in her first two pro fights and she’s 6-1 since. She has three wins by entry and two by knockout. She’s one first round finish.
UFC Picks
The line on this battle is surprisingly packed with Kish about a 3-1 favourite. I really do think the move up in weight will help Kish, as she seemed weak against Herrig and it’s always pleasant to have the house crowd edge. Kim landed some shots from Pudilova in her UFC debut, but still lost a unanimous choice. I lean toward Kish in this struggle, but I believe it’s going to be a competitive fight and I am certainly not comfortable laying 3-1 at a struggle I think will be shut. I believe playing with the rounds is the better way to go. The rounds choice is listed at 2.5 with the more recorded at -260. None of both of these fighters have much power, and I can’t see either one obtaining a finish unless one of these makes a significant error and gets trapped in a hold. I will take the rounds to cover the total.
